Originally from Houston, I grew up in Greater Cincinnati, with a short chapter on Florida’s west coast along the way. In 2024, my husband and I put down new roots in Louisiana to be closer to family. My most recent work reflects the influence of this new home, as the landscape, light, wildlife, and slower rhythms of life are finding their way into my work.

My path to becoming an artist wasn’t exactly a straight one. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Northern Kentucky University and an MBA from Thomas More University. After a career in business, I transitioned into education and currently teach fifth-grade math and science. Along the way, painting has become an increasingly important part of my creative life.

I work primarily in acrylic, watercolor, and oil, creating still lifes and landscapes inspired by the beauty I find in both the ordinary and the extraordinary. I’m fascinated by light, color, texture, and the challenge of taking something I see and translating the feeling of it onto canvas.

For me, painting is about more than creating a finished piece. It’s about staying curious, continuing to learn, and having the courage to begin something new—even when the path ahead isn’t completely clear.
